PURPOSE
To install, maintain, troubleshoot, and continuously improve
industrial instrumentation and automation systems across the plant ensuring
reliable operations, optimal process control, and improved productivity,
efficiency, and product quality. The role provides technical support to plant
operators and maintenance teams in resolving automation and instrumentation
faults.
THE JOB
- Install,
maintain, and support industrial automation and instrumentation systems to
ensure stable and efficient plant operations.
- Troubleshoot
and resolve faults on automation systems, including PLC hardware, I/O modules,
field instruments, HMIs, and associated control panels.
- Carry
out planned preventive maintenance, calibration, and routine inspections of
instrumentation and control systems.
- Assist
in PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming, configuration, and modifications for
process optimization and plant improvement initiatives.
- Collect,
collate, and record machine and process parameters for analysis and performance
monitoring.
- Monitor
automation system data and trends to support focused improvement and
reliability initiatives.
- Provide
technical support and basic training to operators and maintenance personnel on
automation and instrumentation systems.
- Support
commissioning, upgrades, and minor automation projects under the guidance of
senior engineers
THE
PERSON MUST
- Possess
sound knowledge of electrical control systems, instrumentation, and industrial
automation.
- Have
good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrate
strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be
able to work effectively in a fast paced, collaborative manufacturing
environment.
- Have
basic understanding of manufacturing or packaging processes and related
machinery.
- Be
safety conscious and compliant with plant HSE requirements
QUALIFICATION
- OND
in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Additional
training or exposure in control systems engineering will be an added advantage
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum
of two (2) years’ experience in plant maintenance within a manufacturing or
industrial environment.
- Practical
knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and HMI programming, operation, and implementation.
- Working
knowledge of industrial communication networks such as Profibus, Modbus, AS
iBus, CANbus, and Industrial Ethernet
