PURPOSE
The Electrical Technician is
responsible for ensuring the reliable and safe operation of all electrical
systems and equipment across milling and packaging operations. The role
involves executing preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis and corrective
repairs of to minimize downtime and support continuous production, while
complying with food safety, electrical and plant safety standards.
THE JOB
- Collaborate
with production teams to support machine shutdowns, start-ups and modification
for process improvement.
- Carry
out planned preventive maintenance tasks on all electrical equipment, machinery
and systems used in flour packing and packaging operations.
- Carry
our minor electrical installations and corrective maintenance works.
- Diagnose
and repair faults on motors, MCC panels, control circuits, sensors, conveyors,
VFDs and associated electrical systems
- Support
electrical maintenance of packing and packaging equipment including baggers,
weighers, sealers, palletizers and conveyors
- Participate
in equipment installation, commissioning and calibration activities as required.
- Respond
promptly to breakdowns and troubleshoot electrical faults to minimize
production downtime.
- Adhere
strictly to all electrical safety protocols and plant safety standards.
- Maintain
accurate maintenance logs, spare parts usage and work orders records.
THE PERSON MUST
- Have
good knowledge of electrical machine, devices, drawings and controls.
- Possess
excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Have
effective verbal and written communication skills.
QUALIFICATION
- 5
O’Level credits, including Mathematics and English.
- NABTEB
/ City & Guilds (C&G) Technical in Electrical or related discipline.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum
of 2 years’ experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or
related industrial environment.
