PURPOSE
The Operations Risk Safety Officer is responsible for
supporting the implementation and monitoring of FMN’s Operational Risk
Management (ORM) Framework across plants and business units. The role ensures
compliance with safety standards, conducts risk and loss prevention
assessments, and supports the execution of corrective and preventive actions
aimed at minimizing operational risk exposure and promoting a safe working
environment.
THE JOB
- Support the
implementation and monitoring of the Operational Risk Management and Loss
Prevention programs across business units.
- Conduct periodic site inspections, operational audits,
and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with
safety regulations and company standards.
- Track, verify, and follow up on the timely closure of
corrective and preventive actions arising from audits and incident
investigations.
- Assist in the preparation, review, and implementation of
Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) for each plant or operational location.
- Participate in reviews of engineering designs, plant
layouts, and equipment to ensure compliance with safety and operability
requirements.
- Support the review of project safety management plans,
method statements, and construction risk assessments.
- Promote and drive operational safety awareness and
compliance culture among employees and contractors.
- Participate in
HAZOP, HAZID, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews to proactively manage and
mitigate operational risks.

QUALIFICATION
- B.Sc./HND in Environmental Science
or Engineering.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years of cognate
experience.
