PURPOSE
A Power Plant Electrician will undertake a variety of tasks
relating to installation and maintenance of electrical infrastructures in
efficient ways to improve plant availability and sustain equipment
reliabilities
THE JOB
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair on all
switchgear control circuits, generators, turbines in accordance with procedures
and OEM recommendations.
- Repair and maintain electrical equipment in
generating stations; tests defective equipment to determine cause of
malfunction or failure.
- Repair and replace equipment, such as relays,
switches, supervisory controls, and indicating and recording instruments.
- Partake in installation/decommissioning of power
generating equipment.
- Perform
detailed RCFA on a failed equipment or process and put further preventive
actions in place.
- Monitor
loading; operate power generation equipment in an efficient and economical
manner.
- Observe all health and safety regulations in
accordance with FMN safety policies.
- Prepare adequate reports and documentations to
be in conformity with OPEX (Operational Excellence) drive.
THE
PERSON MUST
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a
high level of accuracy in all electrical maintenance tasks.
- Be able to read and interpret electrical
drawings, single‑line diagrams, and control circuit schematics.
- Possess sound troubleshooting skills with the
ability to quickly identify and resolve electrical faults
QUALIFICATION
- Minimum of 5 O’Level credits, including
Mathematics and English.
- NABTEB / City & Guilds (C&G) Technical
in Electrical or related discipline.
EXPERIENCE
2–3 years hands‑on experience in industrial
electrical maintenance, utilities, or power generation environment.
