ASSISTANT TAX MANAGER FMN HOLDINGS LIMITED

PURPOSE ​

To support the organization in ensuring full compliance with all applicable tax laws and statutory requirements through accurate tax reporting, timely filing of statutory returns, proper documentation, and effective engagement with tax authorities and regulatory bodies.

THE JOB

  •  Prepare and file statutory tax returns including VAT, WHT, CIT, and other regulatory filings within required deadlines.
  • Ensure accurate computation and timely remittance of all applicable taxes in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records for all tax-related transactions, filings, and correspondence.
  • Liaise with tax authorities and regulatory bodies on tax matters, compliance issues, and regulatory queries.
  • Coordinate and manage tax audits, investigations, reconciliations, and regulatory reviews.
  • Review financial transactions to ensure correct tax treatment in line with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and provide updates on possible implications for the organization.
  • Support preparation of tax schedules and disclosures for financial statements and management reports.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to ensure accurate tax accounting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax compliance processes, documentation, and reporting efficiency.
  • Ensure timely response to queries from tax authorities and regulatory bodies.
  •  Maintain proper tax records to support regulatory reviews and audits.

THE PERSON MUST

  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  •  Have good knowledge of tax laws, statutory compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Be able to work under pressure and meet strict statutory deadlines.
  • Possess good communication and stakeholder management skills.

QUALIFICATION

  • B.Sc/HND in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related discipline.
  • Professional certification (ICAN) is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of two cognate experience in tax, accounting, or finance.
  • Experience in tax compliance, statutory filing, and regulatory reporting is required.
  • Experience working with tax authorities, audits, or regulatory reviews will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in big-four consulting firm is an added advantage
