PURPOSE
To monitor inventory control processes laid down by
management and appraise independently all controls within stores, procurement,
production, loading and packing areas of the organization.
THE JOB
- Planning,
organizing and supervising the inventory control operations and providing
quality assurance on work done by the team.
- Provide
leadership and direction in communicating and monitoring inventory control
policies and processes.
- Ensure
all materials received by the company are following policies and procedures.
- Weekly
reconciliation of material movements including report on any shortages.
- Perform
administrative tasks such as allocation of staff to various duty posts,
approval of staff overtime, dissemination of relevant information to team
members.
- Check
compliance with approved operational procedures at entry gate, weighbridge,
loading bays and exit gates.
- Report
deficiencies in control to the manager and make appropriate recommendations.
- Preparation
and circulation of monthly inventory count schedule.
THE
PERSON MUST
- Possess
strong knowledge of internal control frameworks and compliance procedures.
- Demonstrate
excellent understanding of inventory management and materials movement
processes.
- Be
highly proficient in financial analysis, reconciliation, and variance
investigation.
- Have
strong audit capabilities with the ability to conduct independent control
reviews.
QUALIFICATION
- HND/Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional
Qualification Required: ACCA, ACA or a recognized accounting certification.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum
of ten years’ experience in internal control, audit, inventory management, or
related operational roles.
- Experience
in a structured, fast-paced manufacturing or FMCG environment is highly
required.
