PURPOSE
To coordinate all plant activities relating to power generation, mechanical maintenance, and utility operations to ensure optimum performance and reliability of generators, boilers, compressors, water treatment systems, effluent treatment plants, and associated equipment in support of uninterrupted production operations.
THE JOB
- Ensure all power plant generators, boilers, compressors, water treatment plants, effluent treatment plants, and auxiliary equipment are properly operated and mechanically maintained in line with OEM standards and best practices.
- Allocate and supervise mechanical maintenance teams for repairs, maintenance, and overhaul activities on installed generators and utility equipment.
- Monitor spare parts availability and support inventory planning to minimize downtime.
- Drive people capability development and knowledge transfer within the maintenance team.
- Ensure effective asset care and maintenance of all utilities and power equipment, including cost management, maintenance planning, and execution.
- Liaise with the Site Power Plant Manager, Technical Manager, Procurement, Stores, and Operations teams to ensure continuous equipment availability.
- Deliver agreed KPIs and targets related to utilities and power operations.
- Coordinate utility and power teams to ensure adequate manpower utilization and operational efficiency.
THE PERSON MUST
- Possess strong mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
- Have sound knowledge of generators, boilers, compressors, water treatment, and utility systems.
- Be proactive with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Have a strong commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
QUALIFICATION
- Minimum of HND/B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
- Membership of NSE.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of five (7) years’ cognate experience in power plant operations, utilities, or industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
