PURPOSE
To support the organization’s commitment to improving
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance by implementing HSE
objectives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a
safe and healthy working environment to prevent workplace incidents and
injuries.
THE JOB
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits,
and material-handling equipment checks to ensure compliance with HSE standards
and procedures.
- Identify potential hazards, accident risks, and
unsafe conditions within the facility and recommend corrective actions
promptly.
- Monitor factory operations to ensure proper use
of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe work practices.
- Implement and enforce permit-to-work systems for
non-routine and hazardous tasks.
- Prepare weekly HSE reports, including work
permit records, contractor forecasts, and safety observations.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, safety
pep talks, and employee awareness programs.
- Drive compliance with HSE engagement initiatives
including BBS, Walk the Talk, PPE compliance, training, CAPA closure, and
safety meeting attendance.
- Ensure safe warehouse stacking practices and
monitor forklift operations through routine inspections.
THE
PERSON MUST
- Have good oral and written communication skills.
- Possess strong knowledge of Health, Safety, and
Environmental practices.
- Have strong analytical thinking and
problem-solving ability.
- Be proactive in identifying and resolving safety
risks.
QUALIFICATION
- Minimum of OND in a Science-related discipline.
- Certification in General Health, Safety and
Environment (HSE Level 2 & 3) is required.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of two (2) years’ cognate experience in
the FMCG industry.
- Basic training in fire safety, first aid
procedures, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is an added advantage.
