GENERAL LEDGER MANAGER - FMN INFRASTRUCTURE, APAPA BULK TERMINAL ,APAPA

PURPOSE 

To ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirement.

THE JOB

  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger entries
  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports
  • Coordinate and support external and internal audits
  • Implement and maintain internal controls and compliance with accounting policies
  • Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and analysis
  • Ensures integrity of financial data, compliance with regulatory requirement and accounting standards
  • Co-ordinate monthly balance sheet reconciliation
  • Monitor and supervises intercompany transaction booking
  • Monitors remittances of taxes to respective tax authorities.
  • Review and process expense for payment i.e., supplier's bills, NIMASA Bills and NPA Bills.

THE PERSON MUST

  • Have extensive experience in general ledger management, overseeing month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Possess strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS, chart of accounts management.
  • Provide leadership and strategic mentorship to a team of General Ledger Managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical accounting excellence across the organization.
  • Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in ERP systems and advanced financial reporting tools.

QUALIFICATION

  • First degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Masters in Business Administration/Finance.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years relevant experience in accounting and financial reporting
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and internal controls.
