PURPOSE
To carry out routine operation, maintenance, and checks of
power‑generating equipment, auxiliaries, and power distribution systems in
order to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted power supply.
THE JOB
- Operate
generating sets on a daily basis to ensure efficient and effective performance.
- Monitor
generator and engine parameters and take corrective actions where necessary.
- Take
and record hourly engine and generator readings.
- Conduct
routine condition monitoring including visual inspections and sound checks.
- Troubleshoot
generator faults and carry out electrical repairs and minor installations.
- Maintain
electrical auxiliaries, alternators, motors, fans, and electrical panels.
- Carry
out maintenance on HV, MV, and LV panels, equipment, and switchgears.
- Ensure
cleanliness of engine rooms, control rooms, switch rooms, transformer house,
and surrounding plant areas.
- Prepare
and maintain shift and maintenance activity reports.
THE
PERSON MUST HAVE
- Have good knowledge of power plant operations
and generator systems.
- Possess strong electrical troubleshooting and
maintenance skills.
- Be safety‑conscious and detail‑oriented.
- Be willing to work in shifts and respond to
operational demands
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 O’Level credits, including Mathematics and
English or OND in Electrical/Electronics.
- NABTEB / City & Guilds (C&G) Technical
in Electrical or related discipline.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years’ cognate experience in
electrical or power plant operations.
