PURPOSE
To carry out layout, installation, repair, finishing, and
maintenance of wooden structures, fixtures, and fittings across the
organization to support smooth operational activities and infrastructure
upkeep.
THE JOB
- Construct and repair wooden structures such as
pallets, storage boxes, and other wood-based installations.
- Design and install cabinets, shelving units,
fitted furniture, drywall, and insulation structures.
- Install fixtures and fittings, including door
handles, locks, hinges, and closures.
- Select appropriate lumber based on size,
strength, and job requirements, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Take accurate measurements and calculate
required materials for each job.
- Determine and calculate the required number of
fasteners and consumables per task.
- Carry out structural alterations, including
building or dismantling partitions and wooden frameworks.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on
existing wooden structures and fittings.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Food
Safety Management System (FSMS) requirements in all tasks.
- Report safety violations, hazards, and
FSMS-related issues in line with company policies and procedures.
THE
PERSON MUST
- Be skilled in carpentry tools, techniques, and
woodwork fabrication.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and
accuracy in measurements and finishing.
- Be safety-conscious and compliant with workplace
safety regulations.
- Be able to interpret technical drawings and job
specifications.
- Possess good problem-solving and practical
repair skills.
QUALIFICATION
- WAEC/NABTEB with a minimum of five (5) credit
passes, including Mathematics and English Language, or Trade Test I to III
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of two years cognate experience in
carpentry or related technical work
