PURPOSE
To install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted depot operations in line with organisational productivity objectives.
THE JOB
- Carry out maintenance and repair of electrical machines and systems to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine inspection of machinery and submit detailed reports to the Milling Engineer.
- Collect required materials from stores to support maintenance and repair activities.
- Record and monitor electrical equipment readings for analysis and performance evaluation.
- Wire and maintain electrical panels according to specifications to prevent electrical hazards and fire risks.
- Execute planned preventive maintenance on electrical systems and machinery.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas through proper housekeeping practices.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and repair requests to ensure operational continuity.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and FMN Lifesaving Rules.
- Report all faults, safety violations, and behavioural risks to the Safety Department and relevant supervisors.
THE PERSON MUST
- Be technically skilled in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrate strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
- Be able to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals.
- Be able to respond quickly and effectively to emergency breakdown situations.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy in wiring and installation.
QUALIFICATION
- 5 O-Level credits, including Mathematics and English/ NABTEB, or Trade Test Grade I to III and OND in Electrical Engineering or related field
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of two years cognate experience in electrical maintenance or industrial operations
