PURPOSE
To carry out maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of
machinery, as well as fabrication of parts, to ensure the continuous and
efficient operation of equipment within the flour milling plant.
THE JOB
- Perform breakdown repairs on milling machinery
to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Carry out routine preventive maintenance on
mechanical equipment to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and
equipment faults during assigned shifts.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical
control issues to restore equipment functionality.
- Identify potential equipment failures and implement
preventive measures to avoid unplanned downtime.
- Analyze machine performance and test results,
adjusting meet operational specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance
activities, repairs, and machine service history.
- Coordinate the sourcing and collection of
materials and spare parts required for maintenance activities.
- Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and
operational risks to the Mechanical Supervisor and relevant stakeholders.
THE
PERSON MUST
- Possess strong mechanical troubleshooting and
repair skills in an industrial environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively
under pressure and respond quickly to breakdown situations.
- Have good knowledge of preventive maintenance
practices and equipment reliability principles.
- Be safety-conscious with a strong commitment to
operational excellence and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATION
- 5 O’Level credits, including Mathematics and
English or Trade Test I to III in Mechanical Engineering or a related
discipline.
- NABTEB / City & Guilds (C&G) in a
related discipline.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of three years cognate experience in
industrial mechanical maintenance.
