PURPOSE
To receive incoming wheat, ensure proper storage within designated silos, and transfer the correct wheat types to the pre-cleaning sections to support efficient and uninterrupted flour production operations.
THE JOB
- Receive incoming wheat and ensure it is transferred to the appropriate silos according to specifications.
- Monitor and maintain wheat quality, temperature, and storage conditions within the silos.
- Coordinate wheat transfers to pre-cleaning bins and production areas in collaboration with millers.
- Conduct routine checks on silo machinery, elevators, conveyors, and related equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Monitor silo capacity levels and prevent overfilling or stock misplacement.
- Perform regular stock counts and verify the accurate identification and placement of wheat inventory.
- Ensure pre-cleaning bins are supplied with the correct wheat types to support production requirements.
- Collect and submit wheat samples to the laboratory at scheduled intervals for quality analysis.
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Food Safety Management System (FSMS) requirements, and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
THE PERSON MUST
- Possess good knowledge of grain handling, storage operations, and stock control processes.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory monitoring and wheat transfers.
- Have strong problem-solving skills to support efficient production operations
QUALIFICATION
- 5 O-Level credits, including Mathematics and English.
- OND in Engineering or Science discipline
- NABTEB / City & Guilds (C&G) in a related discipline.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of two years cognate experience in industrial mechanical maintenance.
