PURPOSE
To diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems and
components on trucks, trailers, and heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring fleet
reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
THE JOB
- Diagnose
and repair electrical faults on trucks, trailers, and tractors using
appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Detect,
interpret, and rectify electrical fault codes to restore vehicle functionality.
- Inspect,
test, and maintain vehicle electrical systems, including wiring, lighting,
batteries, alternators, and starter motors.
- Troubleshoot
and repair electronic control systems and electrical components on
diesel-powered vehicles.
- Carry
out preventive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize vehicle breakdowns
and downtime.
- Ensure
all assigned vehicles are repaired and maintained in accordance with approved
workshop and manufacturer standards.
- Install,
replace, and upgrade electrical components and accessories as required.
- Maintain
accurate records of repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance activities performed
on vehicles.
- Adhere
strictly to workplace safety procedures, quality standards, and environmental
regulations.
THE
PERSON MUST
- Possess
strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for truck and heavy-duty vehicle
electrical systems.
- Demonstrate
practical experience in repairing electrical and electronic faults on diesel
trucks and trailers.
- Be
able to read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and diagnostic
reports.

QUALIFICATION
- Minimum
of five (5) O'Level credits including English Language and Mathematics in not
more than two sittings.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum
of 5 years' experience in truck maintenance with a strong focus on auto
electrical repairs and diagnostics.
- Proven
experience working on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, tractors, and fleet
vehicles.
