PURPOSE
To drive Flour Operations’ commitment to continuous
improvement in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance, ensuring the
effective implementation of HSE objectives, policies, and procedures in line
with local regulatory requirements, with the primary aim of preventing
workplace injuries, protecting the environment.
THE JOB
- Design, implement, and communicate an HSE management
system aligned with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 requirements, provide
timely guidance on ISO 45001:2018 standards, and develop programs and plans to
achieve occupational health and safety objectives
- Advise management on the implications of current and
emerging health, safety, and environmental legislation by evaluating options,
making recommendations, and generating action plans to ensure compliance, to
ensure the timely and accurate submission of HSE reports to plant management
and GHSE, and to provide advice on HSE trends and indicators
- Review all safety rules regularly and recommend
necessary changes, provide and maintain unobstructed vehicle and pedestrian
walkways, and establish clearly marked muster and fire assembly points that are
always kept free of obstruction
- Identify training needs, provide information, ensure
regular employee training on HSE matters to enhance knowledge, prepare periodic
health, safety, and environment reports, and conduct routine drills to test
emergency preparedness for all likely scenarios
- Develop, implement, manage, and execute strategies to
prevent workplace injuries, minimize environmental incidents, and achieve
annual HSE performance targets set by management.
THE PERSON
MUST
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skill.
- In depth knowledge of key Health & Safety practices
and associated legislative requirements at national level is essential.
- Proficient in management of occupational health and
safety risks (risk management strategies).
QUALIFICATION
- B.Sc./ HND in Engineering,
Environmental Sciences or related course.
- NEBOSH Certificate, Membership of the
Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria ISPON.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of three (5) years' relevant
experience in FMCG.
