PURPOSE
The Assistant Hygiene Manager will support the
implementation and continuous improvement of hygiene, sanitation, and pest
management programs across the milling operation. The role is responsible for
ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards while
supporting the maintenance of a safe, hygienic, and efficient production
environment.
THE JOB
- Support the implementation and monitoring of
plant hygiene and housekeeping programs in line with food safety standards.
- Assist in managing Integrated Pest Management
(IPM) and fumigation activities to ensure effective pest prevention and
control.
- Support the management of product returns from
trade through proper documentation, segregation, disposal, and preventive
action implementation.
- Participate in internal and external audits and
support the closure of identified gaps to ensure compliance with statutory and
food safety requirements.
THE
PERSON MUST
- Possess a
good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation management systems.
- Have practical knowledge of Integrated Pest
Management (IPM) and hygiene control programs.
- Demonstrate strong supervisory, organizational,
and interpersonal skills.
- Be proactive with strong problem-solving and
root cause analysis capabilities.
- Have good knowledge of GMP, 5S, Good Hygiene
Practices (GHP), Good Housekeeping Practices (GHK), Integrated Pest Management
(IPM), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
QUALIFICATIONS
- HND/B.Sc. in Food Science or a related
discipline.
- Professional hygiene certification will be an
added advantage.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in an
FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Certifications in Quality Management, Food
Safety Management Systems, or Lean Six Sigma will be an added advantage.
