PURPOSE
To safely operate and drive a crane truck for the transportation, lifting, loading, unloading, and placement of equipment and materials in support of maintenance and operational activities, while ensuring full compliance with safety regulations, operational standards, and company procedures.
THE JOB
- Safely drive and operate a crane truck to transport equipment and materials to designated work locations.
- Operate truck-mounted crane equipment for lifting, loading, unloading, positioning, and relocating materials and equipment.
- Conduct daily pre-start, operational, and post-operational inspections of the crane truck and associated lifting equipment.
- Ensure all lifting and transportation activities are carried out in line with approved lifting plans, work permits, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
- Operate the crane strictly within approved lifting capacities and operational limits.
- Verify that loads are properly secured and that lifting accessories are fit for purpose before use.
- Maintain accurate records of crane operations, inspections, maintenance requirements, and equipment defects.
THE PERSON MUST HAVE
- Possess excellent crane truck driving and equipment handling skills.
- Demonstrate strong awareness of lifting operations and workplace safety requirements.
- Have sound knowledge of vehicle inspections, defect reporting, and equipment care.
- Be able to accurately assess risks and work safely in operational environments.
- Demonstrate a high level of responsibility, discipline, and attention to detail.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of OND, NABTEB, City & Guilds (C&G), WAEC Technical Certificate, or an equivalent technical qualification.
Valid driver's license appropriate for heavy-duty vehicle operations.).
EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience in operating crane trucks, heavy-duty vehicles, or lifting equipment in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, power generation, or related environment will be an advantage.
