PURPOSE ​

To provide supervisory oversight of daily fleet operations by managing drivers, coordinating truck dispatch and recovery activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and liaising with the workshop team to maintain optimal fleet availability and utilization.

THE JOB​

• Supervise the daily operations of assigned trucks and drivers to ensure efficient fleet utilization.
• Conduct inventory checks on assigned trucks and coordinate the dispatch of operational vehicles.
• Facilitate the movement of non-operational trucks to the workshop for repairs and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
• Coordinate truck handovers and maintain accurate records of vehicle accessories and assets.
• Liaise with the Workshop Supervisor to ensure timely vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Promptly report and document accidents, breakdowns, and other road incidents.
• Coordinate truck recovery activities following accidents or breakdowns.
• Monitor driver performance and enforce disciplinary and compliance measures where necessary.

THE PERSON MUST HAVE​

• Possess strong supervisory and people management skills.
• Demonstrate excellent coordination, communication, and reporting abilities.
• Be able to manage multiple operational activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Have a strong understanding of fleet operations, truck dispatch, and transportation logistics.

QUALIFICATIONS​

• Minimum of a National Diploma (ND) in any discipline.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other relevant digital tools is an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE​

• Minimum of two years’ relevant experience in fleet operations, transportation, logistics, or a related field.
• Experience supervising drivers and coordinating fleet activities will be an added advantage.
