PURPOSE 

To fabricate, construct, install and repair equipment according to the given specification to enhance optimum productivity. 

THE JOB  

Ensure all job orders/request are efficiently carried out 

Calculate materials quantity needed for each job order and send it to the supervisor for appropriate requisition. 

Fabricate jobs according to the design specification. 

Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements 

Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements) 

Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded 

Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces 

Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead) 

Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps 

Take responsibility for working tools and to be accountable for it when requested 

Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws 

Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety 

THE PERSON MUST 

Be organised and able to manage materials efficiently 

Have a strong sense of responsibility and accountability 

Possess good communication and teamwork skills 

Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment 

QUALIFICATIONS  

OND/NABTEB/C&G/WAEC TECH in a relevant discipline 

EXPERIENCE  

Minimum of two (2) years' cognate experience preferably in a manufacturing, production or FMCG environment
