PURPOSE  

To install, inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and milling machinery to ensure safe operations, minimize downtime, and enhance the performance, reliability, and availability of milling and packaging equipment. 

THE JOB  

Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment, machinery, and components used in milling and packaging operations. 

Conduct routine inspections of machinery and complete required maintenance and inspection reports. 

Respond promptly to mechanical faults and breakdowns and carry out preventive maintenance activities in line with approved schedules. 

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogues to execute maintenance tasks accurately. 

Ensure completed maintenance and repair activities are properly documented and signed off. 

Follow up on requests for spare parts, tools, and materials required to complete maintenance activities. 

Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) procedures and applicable mechanical standards. 

Maintain good housekeeping practices to ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment. 

THE PERSON MUST   

Have good mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 

Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals. 

Demonstrate good attention to detail and accuracy in maintenance activities. 

Ability to work under pressure and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns. 

Demonstrate strong commitment to safety and proper use of PPE. 

QUALIFICATION 

5 O’ level credits including Mathematics& English in not more than 2 sittings. 

NABTEB, Trade Test, City & Guilds, Technical certification. 

EXPERIENCE  

Minimum of 2 years' cognate experience in mechanical maintenance. 

Experience in a manufacturing, milling, packaging, or industrial environment would be an added advantage.
