PURPOSE

To deliver strategic and expert legal support to the company and its subsidiaries, ensuring effective management of corporate commercial transactions, dispute resolution, and associated legal matters.

THE JOB

• Drafting and developing standard and specialized commercial contracts.
• Liaising with external solicitors and other consultants to provide general legal services to the Group.
• Coordinating the conduct of legal due diligence on business partners.
• Providing in-house legal support on the defense and institution of claims.
• Reviewing and advising on court processes filed for and against the Group
• Attending court sessions, trials, and judgment readings when required.
• Provide general legal advice to the Group and ensure that the Group complies with legal and regulatory requirements for its existence and operations.
• Conducting research and analysis of legal issues.
• Participating in the selection, engagement, and performance evaluation of external solicitors.

THE PERSON MUST  

• Possess excellent knowledge of law, regulations and industry standard relevant to the organization.
• Be able to assess and mitigate legal risk that could impact the organization.
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to navigate complex legal issues.
• Have the ability to develop and implement legal strategies.
• Have excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Possess good attention to details and high emotional intelligence.
• Have solid interpersonal and communication skills.

QUALIFICATION

• LLB/BL in law.
• Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association.
• LLM/ICSAN membership will be an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE

• At least 6 years of cognate experience.
