PURPOSE
To support the Network Manager in ensuring efficient
planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and
optimizing all network infrastructure which includes network security, core
switching, core routing, wireless, IP phones, and WAN/LAN.
THE JOB
- Design,
implement, and manage IT network infrastructure.
- Carry
out regular network maintenance, design, and installation, monitor IT network
systems, and make appropriate recommendations on infrastructure improvement.
- Support,
monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware/software of network-related problems.
- Support
and maintain end-user requirements, including troubleshooting and training.
- Monitor
network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, latency, anomalous
traffic, activities, etc.)
- Provide
second-level technical support to IT Officers across all sites and users
concerning network system operations.
- Solve
problems using expert-level troubleshooting and serve as a point person to work
through a problem through resolution.
THE
PERSON MUST
- Possess
excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be
computer literate.
- Have
problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
- Have
good knowledge of IT service delivery.
- Possess
organizational and time management skills.
- Be
knowledgeable in network management and monitoring.
- Have
in-depth knowledge of CISCO switches firewalls and routers.
- Possess
excellent knowledge of CISCO CUCM administration.
QUALIFICATION
- BSc in science-related disciplines.
- CCNA or CCNP will be an added
advantage.
EXPERIENCE
- At
least two years’ cognate experience.
