PURPOSE
To drive and execute automobile workshop initiatives
and strategies; plan, design, develop and facilitate interventions by ensuring
that quality standards and deadlines are met to deliver outstanding business
performance in the workshop.
THE JOB
- Ensure health and safety is always maintained in the
workshop to achieve 0% OSI/RTA on the trucks repair in accordance with HSE at
Work Act 1974 and any HSE Regulations issued.
- Responsible for the workshop related resources and
consumables while maintaining high quality and value for money with the support
of all stakeholders to manage budget spend.
- Leads the troubleshooting and correction of defects,
finds root-cause, failure analysis and data collation to monitor, track and
solve technical and service problems that involve repair processes of the
trucks.
- Facilitates the lean activities and continuous
improvement programmes for the workshop personnel on current and new
maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) procedures.
- Ensure key performance indicators are captured and
reported for equipment reliability, maintenance department performance,
planning and scheduling business flow process with the Managers to implement.
- Displays leadership, clear vision for the team, haulage
and team building initiatives that would yield to effective and measurable
KPIs.
- Supervises the maintenance cost reduction through
quality job completion, 0% returns, 0% road calls, minimum 90% truck uptime and
asset reliability targets are met for efficient manpower utilization and
discipline.
- Maintains a workshop that is highly hygienic. Service
yard and tools are kept, secure, clean and in a fit safe condition of use at
all times.
- Present on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports
of workshop performance, truck uptime, reliability, running costs and any other
request from the General Manager.
- Play active role in the advice of trucks purchase by
aligning with Procurement team to ensure there is ROI on additional trucks
injected into the system to achieve the overall business objectives.
THE PERSON
MUST
- Have excellent verbal and written
communication skills.
- Strong understanding of mechanical
principles, vehicle systems, and equipment.
- Ability to diagnose complex technical
issues.
- Knowledge of repair and maintenance
procedures for vehicles, equipment, and machinery.
QUALIFICATION
- First Degree in relevant Engineering
discipline.
- COREN Professional Membership.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 7 years automobile
experience.
