PURPOSE
To assist the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
Manager to direct industrial hygiene, occupational, and general safety programs
and ensure a safe and clean environment whilst complying with statutory
regulations.
THE JOB
- Develop, implement and sustain health and safety
programs and initiatives to build a sustainable OHS culture across the BU.
- Promote HSE practice to ensure staff compliance with
health, environmental, and safety rules and regulations.
- Review all safety rules on a regular basis and, where
necessary, recommend suitable changes.
- Ensure that rigorous health and safety audits,
inspections, investigations and root cause analysis are conducted, and that
appropriate risk identification, assessment and control measures are in place
and sustained.
- Analyse health and safety related information and
prepare regular reports for the Manager, Executive Management Team, Health and
Safety Committee or external authorities on activities and KPIs.
- Engage with management and staff on health and safety
issues and programs to communicate and promote effective health and safety
practice.
THE PERSON
MUST
- Have excellent verbal and written
communication skills.
- Have demonstrated analytical thinking,
problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Have strong knowledge of HSE
regulations and standards and stakeholders’ management abilities.
QUALIFICATION
- B.Sc. HND in Engineering, Environmental
Sciences or related course.
- NEBOSH Certificate, Membership of the
Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria ISPON.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years’ cognate
experience Preferably in a food and
beverage manufacturing company.
