PURPOSE
To direct industrial hygiene, occupational, and general
safety programs and ensure a safe and clean environment whilst complying with
statutory regulations.
THE JOB
- Provide
health and safety expertise and leadership, guidance and direction to line
managers, supervisors and health and safety representatives across the
organisation.
- Develop,
implement and sustain health and safety programs and initiatives to build a
sustainable OHS culture across the BU.
- Ensure
that rigorous health and safety audits, inspections, investigations and root
cause analysis are conducted and that appropriate risk identification,
assessment and control measures are in place and sustained.
- Analyse
health and safety related information and prepare regular reports for the
Manager, Executive Management Team, Health and Safety Committee or external
authorities on activities and KPIs.
- Engage
with management and staff on health and safety issues and programs to
communicate and promote effective health and safety practice.
- Determine
the health and safety training needs of the organization, then assist to
establish and carry out these health and safety training programs.
THE PERSON MUST
- Have excellent verbal and written
communication skills.
- Have strong knowledge of HSE
regulations and standards and stakeholders’ management abilities.
- Have strong Knowledge of regulatory
processes and procedures guiding the manufacturing of practices in the food and
beverage sector
QUALIFICATION
- B.Sc. HND in Engineering, Environmental
Sciences or related course.
- NEBOSH Certificate, Membership of the
Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria ISPON.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years’ cognate
experience Preferably in a food and
beverage manufacturing company.
