RECYCLING MANAGER​ - BAGCO - LAGOS
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Oversee the operations of all three recycling plants at Bagco (Lagos, Kano, and Morpack), managing the efficient and cost-effective conversion of waste materials into recycled polypropylene and other recyclable products.
THE JOB
- Lead and manage a team of recycling plant staff, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving waste, processing into recycled materials, and dispatching final products.
- Monitor and control the quality of recycled polypropylene and other materials, ensuring compliance with internal and external quality standards.
- Develop robust systems for data collection and operational reporting.
- Develop budgets and monitor financial performance of the recycling units.
- Control costs associated with waste collection, recycling processes, and material handling.
- Implement and monitor KPIs related to overall equipment effectiveness, material yield, cost per ton, and waste reduction.
THE PERSON MUST
- Have strong knowledge of polymer recycling processes, including polypropylene production, flexible packaging waste recycling, and laminate material management.
- Proficiency in ERP and data management systems for inventory and production tracking.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in using performance metrics to drive operational improvements.
QUALIFICATION
- B.Sc. in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Materials Science, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years of experience in recycling operations, waste management, and manufacturing leadership roles.
