AREA SALES MANAGER - FLOUR MILLS OF NIGERIA - APAPA

PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

Responsible for managing and coaching a team of Assistant Managers, Wholesale & Trade Development to achieve the growth objectives in an allocated sales area. 

THE JOB 

  • Overall responsibility for a number of key distributors (KD) serviced by a team of Assistant Managers, Trade Development, Wholesale Development, Seal Team e.tc in an allocated region  
  • Achieve sales volumes by category in each of the key distributor territories. 
  • Ensure that the direct to retail (van sales, open market sales) redistribution KPIs are delivered by each sales team within each key distribution. 
  • Ensure effective coverage of the entire area through direct to retail redistribution supported by a network of FMN approved sub-distributors. 
  • Lead the creation of Joint Business Plans with each key distributor to formalize and track performance against agreed targets and objectives  
  • Responsible for the SOP of each direct to retail team including route plans and correct use of sales automation tool  
  • Coach and mentor the Sales Team in all aspects of the key distribution operation such that they each deliver on their monthly/annual KPIs 

THE PERSON MUST 

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Possess excellent sales and negotiation skills. 
  • Possess the ability to lead and motivate a team 
  • Possess a strategic thinking mindset 

QUALIFICATION 

  • First degree in a business-related discipline 
  • MBA is an added advantage 

EXPERIENCE 

  • 8 years’ sales experience gained in a major FMCG blue chip organization.  
  • Experience of redistribution sales (including route planning) and managing a large Key Distributor is essential.
