PURPOSE
To further PEOPL commitment to improving Health, Safety and Environment
(HSE) performance by implementing health safety and environment objectives and
compliance with local regulatory requirements, to prevent injury and maintain a
safe working environment.
THE JOB
- Coordinate
the preparation and presentation of Health and safety training for safety
committee members.
- Carrying
out regular site inspections/safety audit to check policies and procedures are
being properly implemented.
- Carrying
out risk assessments and considering how risk could be reduced.
- Carrying
out Investigation, reporting and recording of incident (includes near miss,
unsafe act and condition) as well as accidents.
- Provide
and maintain walkways and ensure that vehicle and pedestrian walkways are not
obstructed.
- To
provide and maintain clearly marked muster and fire assembly points and ensure
that they are always free of obstruction,
- To
provide first aid facilities and ensure that first Aid replaceable kits are up
to date, available and accessible. Also to conduct routine inspection of first
aid kits and facilities.
- Understand
the company’s food safety policy, its objective, and the benefits of an
improved food safety management system.
THE PERSON MUST
- Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills.
- Possess strong analytical and
critical thinking skills.
- Committed to food safety
management.
- Proactive and detail-oriented in
ensuring safety standards.
QUALIFICATION
- B.SC Degree in a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and
other analytical tools will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 4 years’ cognate experience.
