PURPOSE
To
manage and analyse the costs associated with supply
chain operations. It involves working closely
with
the Procurement, Logistic and Finance teams to ensure cost efficiency and
effective financial
planning.
THE JOB
- Analyse and report on supply costs, including raw material procurement, warehousing and logistics.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures to ensure accurate cost tracking an reporting.
- Evaluate import parity and export parity to optimize raw material sourcing and sales strategies.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making processes.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
- Implement and maintain cost control measures to minimize waste and inefficiencies.
- Oversee inventory valuation and ensure accurate recording of inventory costs.
THE PERSON MUST
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with the entire supply chain process, from raw materials to finished goods, including logistics, transportation, and warehousing.
- Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data to identify cost savings opportunities and make informed decisions.
- Keen eye for detail to ensure accurate data and reports.
QUALIFICATION
- BSc in Accounting/Finance or any related discipline.
- Membership of ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc. is an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years’ cognate experience in cost accounting, preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
